Alcindo’s childhood dream of becoming an athlete may not have come true, however his willingness to keep fit and train every day lead him to create something remarkable.
Picking up the waste that had washed up on the pristine beach of Santa Maria, he used his construction skills to build a gym from refuse materials, one that everybody in the community could enjoy. “For as long as I live, I’ll continue to use it,” he says.
