Twins For Peace

WORDS Michaela Stehr

Stylish French brand Twins For Peace make cool sneakers and accessories that aim to help children worldwide, and they are now available in South Africa.

Twins For Peace was founded in 2009 by twin brothers Maxime and Alexandre Mussard (descendants of the Hermès family) together with co-founder Louis Felix de Fenoyl.

The sneakers, some of which are made in collaboration with local artists and designers, are made in Europe, with two collections released every year.

For every pair bought, Twins for Peace donate a sustainable pair of shoes to a child in need as part of their Shoe Project.

The process for the Shoe Project has three main steps:

  • They support local economy by producing their shoes locally.
  • All shoes are hand delivered to a community.
  • All participants in the Shoe Project are continuously invested in, with ongoing visits, education and healthcare.

Twins for Peace sneakers are currently available at The Manufacture pop-up store in Cape Town until 12 February 2016, or through thisiscapetown.co.za thereafter.
