The Voorkamer Gallery at Chandler House is hosting Pink, an exciting group exhibition, inspired by the colour pink, featuring some of South Africa’s top artists.
“The show on our pink Voorkamer walls showcases the way that artists have used this sensory colour to explore notions of Cape landscapes, expressive still lifes and fleshy figurative work,” explains Michael Chandler. “From gender identity politics to flamboyant ornithological observations, the artists have used the colour to explore themes that are important to them.”
Artists include Michael Taylor, Cathy Layzell, Daniella Mooney, Georgina Gratrix, Patricia Fraser, Renee Rossouw, Sanell Aggenbach, Ina van Zyl, Colijn Strydom, Mia Chaplin, Lucie de Moyencourt, Ludwich Olivier, Michael Chandler, Kate Arthur, Lisa Strachan, Brett Murray, Clare Menck, Clementina van der Walt and Francois Krige.
Pink opens on 3 December 2015 at 10am, running until 9pm for First Thursdays.
The exhibition will be on show until the end of January 2016. The Voorkamer Gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10am until 5pm and Saturdays from 10am until 2pm at 53 Church Street, Cape Town.
