Off the back of the success of its 2024 event, The Luxurious Marble Circus is set to transport its guests into a world of ‘wonderfilled’ whimsy.
At the heart of any extraordinary event is the seamless integration of atmosphere, design, and participation. The Luxurious Marble Circus offers that and more – it invites guests to become part of a grand spectacle.
Elevated and embellished, the second edition of The Luxurious Marble Circus is transforming Ground the Venue in Muldersdrift into a wonderland of delights, with sensational surprises tucked into every corner. Returning, reimagined, and brand-new spaces and activations welcome fresh personalities, palettes, and pockets of wonder for maximum enjoyment.
For 2025, the design concept builds boldly on the enchantment of last year, leaning into what made The Luxurious Marble Circus so spectacular to begin with: the people. This year’s creative direction is a nod to those radiant characters who didn’t just attend, but became the Circus.
One of the central narratives at The Luxurious Marble Circus is the idea of mass intimacy. Yes, it’s a grand production, but its scale is more about the sheer size of the landscape and the ambition of the staging than it is about packing in a vast crowd.
The Luxurious Marble Circus Main Stage remains a focal feature, now twice its original size, and will host an array of theatrical and musical performances from the likes of Oskido, DJ Zinhle, Maphorisa, the Soweto Gospel Choir, Mi Casa, Laura Zimmermann, and Amy Wiles.
Across the festival grounds, guests will be treated to a feast for the senses. Playground in the Field (inspired by Pantry) continues to offer an al fresco food affair, now with five additional menu concepts and a surprise BBC Food collaboration. The Uncaged Carousel, a Zioux-inspired, Schweppes-led carousel bar, delights festival-goers with curated cocktails and terrific talent.
Guests will also savour an extraordinary outdoor dining experience orchestrated by David Higgs and guest chefs in the Grand Dining Room (inspired by Marble, in collaboration with Moët & Chandon and Hennessy) and the Royal Lounge (inspired by Saint, in collaboration with Don Julio and Johnnie Walker), now with the added allure of exclusive lounge entertainment alongside sweeping views of the main stage.
From a design and communication perspective, the team has taken what was whimsical last year and built on it, pushing the magical envelope even further. This includes the creation of The Luxurious Marble Circus’ very own ‘language’ – a world beyond words – to describe the festival. The updated lexicon adds pinches of ‘fantazmic’ magic to luxurious words, evoking a language that is deliciously peculiar.
Highlights to Look Forward To
Every area of this year’s event unlocks another design detail, another delight:
- The trampoline-powered stage – the La Vaulta Spectaculum – is a never-before-seen platform of performance, mischief, and music that flips the very idea of a stage on its head (literally). Unveiled by 94.7, this bounciful beauty features Jozi-adored DJs and mid-air moments of marvel.
- The festival’s title partner, Investec, presents the Wheel of Wonder – a spectacular Ferris wheel that elevates their “Out of the Ordinarious” offering.
- Brand partners have also gone above and beyond this year to host imaginative and immersive experiences in and around the Playground. Johnnie Walker’s Afro Exchange and Moët’s Vista Veranda promise sensory indulgence, as does the all-new Tequila Temple from Don Julio, the Grand Vinarium courtesy of Vilanfonté and Creation Wines, and Minuty’s Rosé Rendezvous.
- Savanna returns to the Fantastical Forest with the Dry Bar, Mercedes-Benz showcases their chariots of wonder, Fabiani offers a glorious café, Vuse adds a vapourwave of vibes in the Vapourium, and Heineken brings a Formula 1 fantasy-come-true to Jozi.
- Another enchanting addition is the Emporium, housing specially curated Luxurious Marble Circus merchandise from Legacy partners, works of art and fashion, and one-of-a-kind trash-to-treasure collectables.
A Feast for All Senses
The tone of 2025 is set to be mesmerising, luxurious, and playful – but with more depth, more character, and a growing sense that this is no longer just a weekend affair. It’s a world that remembers you, responds to you, and reveals itself in layers – if only you’re willing to wander.
