Simple Intrigue

Proving that paper is good for so much more than just printing and writing on, South African artist Keri Muller demonstrates the many ways and shapes it can be formed and worked into intriguing art works that speak volumes.

A woman who wears many hats – from artist to designer and product developer for travel industries – Keri Muller says that art has always been her first love.

“Even though I never studied fine arts, I did interior design and being creative artistically has always been what I love most. I’ve continually made stuff over the years, but only for the last six months have I seriously focused on creating more art works and selling them to the public”, says Muller.

Muller started her blog, “Simple Intrigue” years ago, as a way to keep track of her work and to keep herself artistically inspired to design new things. “I love simplicity and am intrigued by it, which is why I chose the name for the blog and the reason I also try to display and express simplicity on the site”, Muller says.

Through the help of local pop-up store, The Fringe Arts, Muller had her first solo exhibition entitled Book Paper Scissors in their store at the V&A Waterfront on Thursday night, where she displayed her unique paper art work.
