Two talented creatives have teamed up to create a brand-new capsule collection, entitled La Loba.
La Loba is a collaboration between Celeste Arendse of local design label SELFI, and Rochelle “Rharha” Nembhard, aka Drone Goddess, and one half of the powerhouse duo Noirwave. The range will be showcased in an exhibition format both in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The collection aims to allow women to express their duality and to disrupt perceptions of femininity, all the while promoting the relationship between performance art and fashion.
“The collection includes the full spectrum of womanhood,” says the duo. “Free-flowing soft shapes and hard, uniform structures to exemplify the seemingly double consciousness of womanhood and societal expectations.”
The La Loba pop-up will run from 15 December 2017 – 30 January 2018 in Cape Town at SELFI’s flagship store (119 Loop Street) and from 16 February in Johannesburg.
