The mega-city of Dubai has added another exciting event to its calendar. Alongside the annual Art Dubai fair the city will now also host Design Days Dubai. The three-day fair will include exhibitions of collectable and limited edition furniture and objects from the world’s leading design galleries.
Between 18 and 21 March, visitors to Design Days Dubai will be able to feast their eyes on over 400 design pieces and immerse themselves in a packed programme of talks, workshops and performances.
South African design will be represented by Southern Guild, Trewyn and Julian McGowan’s ever-evolving collection of the best our country has to offer. From up-and-coming designers, to the big names, the global audience at Design Days Dubai will be treated to a diverse collection of bespoke and collectable pieces from the tip of Africa.
The designers whose work will be on show are Gregor Jenkin, Bronze Age, Paco & Wayne Barker, Willowlamp, Astrid Dahl, John Vogel, Okha, Conrad Botes, Koop, Dylan Lewis, Haldane Martin, Ardmore, Marchand van Tonder and Guy du Toit.
This stunning mix of art, craft and design is a celebration of artisanal, handmade work from South Africa. Southern Guild sets a benchmark for quality and originality, so we can rest assured that at Design Days Dubai only the finest in local creativity will be laid out to tempt international buyers to our side of the globe – reminding them that Africa has much more to offer than safari’s and beautiful landscapes.
