Roberto Cavalli Home Interiors 2016

WORDS Malibongwe Tyilo

Since opening his first boutique in Saint-Tropez back in 1972, Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli’s namesake brand grew into a fashion empire well-known for its exotic printed dresses, sand-blasted jeans and perfumes.

In 2012, he launched Roberto Cavalli Home. At the time of the launch, the designer wrote on his blog that had he not gone into fashion, his desire would have been to go into architecture or interior design.

Unique furniture pieces inspired by his personal style have always formed part of his homes, yachts, boutiques and clubs. Now, his latest home range for 2016, which takes inspiration from his current catwalk collection, is available from Casarredo, South Africa’s largest Italian design and decor showroom based in Kramerville, Johannesburg. Like his collection, animal prints are a key feature, but are offset against neutral colours to create bold interiors, without making them too loud.
