Words person? You’ll be pleased to know that the celebrated German Qlocktwo wall clock is now available in South Africa. Designed by Biegert & Funk, the clock won a Red Dot Award in 2010 for its quirky typographic time-telling. It’s about time!
The LED-illuminated clock uses words instead of digits or clock hands, earning the up-to-the-minute design much attention abroad. With its sleek, square shape, the Qlocktwo seems to hover over the wall it’s placed on – reinforcing the whole high-tech thing it’s got going on.
Available in satin stainless steel or polished synthetic glass in seven colours, the relevant characters in the centre of the clock are illuminated to tell the time. When activated, the brightness of the characters automatically adjusts to ambient lighting to make the time perfectly visible. How smart is that?
The Qlocktwo is now available from Ligne Roset in Johannesburg for R9,800.
