Quack

Only on closer inspection did we realise Studio Job’s latest offering, the Quack cabinet, is actually an artistic representation of the human anatomy. Still, we think it’s awesome.

Designed by the Dutch-Belgian duo, Nynke Tynagel and Job Smeets, Quack is a storage unit that further displays the pairs’ interest in the traditional veneer application technique of marquetry.

The anatomy represented is abstracted yet still recognisable, with veins and arteries squiggled all over the colourful cabinet. Bones and surgical instruments are dispersed too, and although the subject matter may seem a tad macabre, we think Studio Job managed to keep it fun and quirky.

It makes for an excellent display case for a quack’s office, although we would be pretty chuffed if it was sitting in our lounge too.

The cabinet is on display at the Studio Job gallery in Antwerp, Belgium until 1 October.
