Bold, young, stripped.
What effect do you think the title 2014 World Design Capital will have on Cape Town and South Africa as a whole?
As with the Soccer World Cup it will give us the collective energy to perform beyond our own expectations.

Wings.

The Sammy Marks house/museum outside of Pretoria.
What is the one must-see spot in South Africa you recommend to tourists?
To drive around Chapman’s Peak: starting at Clifton, around Chapman’s Peak to Simons Town.
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Tokyo.
What do you love most in your life?
The light at 6 in the evening in Cape Town.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Swimming in perfume every evening: I have a pool under a white pear tree. It throws its sweet blossoms on the pool for the whole of February and March.
Where would you like to retire?
Close to a white pear tree.
