4. Paper City by Maciek Janicki : Managing editor Lise Avis found a cool animation that, she says: “Just made me smile.” It captures the charming rise and fold of a fragile metropolis by an unseen helicopter.|
2. Cosmotron Car by Paul Bacon : “It's a car built in a shed, but with the looks of a car built on another planet,” explains art director Anton Pietersen. It is mostly from fiberglass and junk, including S&P shakers and moisturiser bottlecaps. Boys and their toys!|
6. Pleiadian by Bill Gekas : “This delightful little portrait was taken of Athena by her photographer father, Bill Gekas. It won gold at the international Loupe awards in 2012,” Debbie Loots, our features writer, explains her choice. “Gorgeous.”|

9. Neko Sushi by Tange & Nakimushi Peanuts : Features and online editor Nadine Botha’s find this week is frankly inexplicable. Cat sushi? It boggles. “I would love to meet the creative mind that dreamt this up and pulled all the stops in executing the concept flawlessly!” she laughs.|
