Picasso Drawing On Auction In Cape Town

A 1954 artwork by iconic Spanish Cubist Pablo Picasso is set to go on auction at the Stephan Welz & Co. Fine and Decorative Arts Sale on 7 June 2016.

The coloured crayon drawing, entitled Au Cirque has an estimated value of between R3 million and R3.5 million and is the first of its kind to be auctioned in South Africa.

Pre-auction viewing will be on from Thursday 26 May to Saturday 28 May from 10am – 5pm at the Stephan Welz & Co. Studio in Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg.

Au Cirque will be showcased in Cape Town from Wednesday 1 June to Sunday 5 June at the Great Cellar, Alphen Estate, Constantia.

Catalogues will be available from the Joburg and Cape Town offices as well as online.
