Before Dr Robert Lang was a full-time origami artist and consultant he worked as a physicist, engineer and R&D manager. He is now recognised as one of the world’s leading origami masters.

Dr Lang is at the forefront of the cross-disciplinary marriage between origami and mathematics. His works have been shown in exhibitions in New York, Paris, Salem, San Diego and Japan and he has consulted on applications of origami to engineering problems, ranging from air-bag design to expandable space telescopes.

Applauded for his astonishing levels of realism, he has completed some of the most complex origami in history. His aesthetically pleasing combination of Western mathematical origami design and Eastern emphasis on perfection through line and form makes for some of the most impressive origami you will ever see. He has over five-hundred designs catalogued and diagrammed and each are elegant, distinctive and a challenging fold.

Take a look at this trailer of Between The Folds to see the wonderful world of origami in a new light.
