The President design studio is launching a new magazine title in April. Entitled Paris – Fading like a Childhood Memory, this offering is a visual lifestyle publication that reflects current trends from the southern hemisphere and how they influence the world we live in.
Creative Director at The President, Peet Pienaar, says, “With all the radical changes in the world, the South’s influence is becoming very important. This magazine is an effort to shift the world’s attention to all the wonderful things happening in the South and also to forge stronger bonds between southern hemisphere role players.”
Paris magazine will be launched at the Toffie Pop Culture Conference and Festival, taking place at the Cape Town City Hall from 30 March to 1 April. The magazine will be tri-lingual, published in English, Spanish and Portuguese, as it will be distributed in South Africa, Argentina, Brazil and Europe.
The 160-page biannual magazine, with an initial print run of 15 000, offers split advertising rates across the tri-continental distribution platform and will retail for R60 in South Africa.
The President is well known for producing award-winning magazines. Peet Pienaar won a Gold Ozzie for the showstopper cover he created for VISI 27 and the studio has garnered numerous accolades for its print-work, including South Africa’s first ever Clio Grand Prix in Miami for magazine design (Afro magazine), a Silver Clio in Las Vegas (MK Bruce Lee), a Merit Award at the One Show in New York (MK Bruce Lee) and, most recently, Menu magazine was named the magazine of the week by the UK magazine expert, Jeremy Leslie.
