New from Okha

Front-runners in South African design, Okha, have some hot new items steaming up their stores.

Two pieces that caught our attention are the Zil Server and the STM Woodsman Armchair. Both designed by Okha Creative Director Adam Court, these pieces epitomise African luxury and a respect for craftsmanship and quality.

The Zil Server, which originated from a custom design for a client in the Seychelles, features strong, black lines on a white background. Following on the STM Armchair Collection, the STM Woodsman Armchair, on the other hand, references mid-century Scandinavian design.

Court – a self-proclaimed design addict – is inspired by a host of things: “I’m an aesthetic sponge and absorb everything around me… I’m inspired by contemporary applications of traditional handcrafts, and sometimes by materials I’ve never used before, or want to use in a different way.”

Okha aims to create elegant, modern interiors for a contemporary lifestyle. It’s clear through furniture like the Zil Server and STM Woodsman Armchair that the team is certainly succeeding in this goal.
