Joburgers in the know will already be celebrating the news that the Neighbourgoods Market is heading their way. And those who’ve never experienced Cape Town’s favourite Saturday outing are in for a real treat.
Saturday mornings at The Old Biscuit Mill are an institution among Cape Town’s hot and hip trend set. And the famous Neighbourgoods Market is now opening a Joburg site in the heart of the city – Braamfontein’s 73 Juta Street with its large-scale concrete façade by Edoardo Villa.
Launching on Saturday 10 September, the market will take place over two floors, with an extensive roof-top area on the second floor boasting views over Braamfontein and the inner city. As part of their commitment to urban regeneration and their goal to revive the role of the public market in civil society, the organisers will focus on maintaining the same high standards of food and other products that Neighbourgoods fans have come to know and love.
Among the traders set to participate are &Union Breweries, Origin Artisan Coffee Roasters, Cheese Gourmet, Buffalo Ridge Mozzarella and Lazanou Organic Vineyards. Keep an ear to the ground for special events throughout the year, including the We Love Real Beer Festival.
Parking is available at the corner of Juta and Melle Streets and the market runs every Saturday, rain or shine, from 9am to 3pm at 73 Juta Street, Braamfontein.
