A sense of nostalgia meets contemporary design in Anatomy Design’s new collection of Beaten Copper vessels.
Right on trend with our prediction in VISI 52 that copper, one of the oldest metals used by man, will be the comeback kid in 2011, Anatomy Design created this collection of Beaten Copper vessels.
Launched at the inaugural Food Wine Design Show in November 2010, the range is another utilitarian-inspired design by Andrea Kleinloog (of the famous Lab Light also seen in the photo) of Anatomy Design.
“I wanted to re-interpret the way we, particularly as South Africans, see copper both as a material and how we use it,” says Andrea. “There is a sense of nostalgia in the material, but the shape of this collection is strictly contemporary.”
The Beaten Copper collection (starting price from R780) is available from Anatomy Design, Shop G15, 44 Stanley Avenue, Milpark, Johannesburg. anatomydesign.co.za.
