Marianne Fassler’s SS16/17 Lookbook

Marianne Fassler‘s SS16/17 collection, WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE?, explores themes of border crossing, migration, globalisation and disenfranchisement through striking vintage military clothing punctuated with playfully interactive colour prints reminiscent of paper cut-outs and collage.

The range crosses inter-disciplinary borders – where design meets art – in a skilful disruption of print, with texture and silhouette. The majority of the prints originate from the design team at Leopard Frock and illustrate a naive escape from the harsh realities of the themes mentioned above, through purposeful contrasting of military print and colour cut-outs.

Fassler also explored the theme of border crossing in a collaboration with Marigold Beads at the FNB JoburgArtFair. Read more here.
