Headed up by designer Paul Whitehead, the Major John brand was established in a small studio in Bloemfontein in 2014.
The brand designs and manufactures timber bow ties, as well as leather products and timber and concrete desk lamps.
Made using partially recycled timber and high quality fabric, each bow tie is hand-made, numbered and can be traced back to a specific series and issue.
The bow ties measure 120 mm x 40 mm, and will fit any neck size once the straps have been adjusted. Engraving is offered at a fee of R49 and each order is elegantly packed in a wooden box before shipping.
The bow ties retail between R235 and R2 499.
