Keel table by De Padova

We love the multi-functionality of the new Keel table for De Padova, designed by the Swedish studio Form Us With Love. At once a table, a stool, and a modular shelf unit, Keel explores the idea of a single object with a single function, with trademark Scandinavian elegance.

According to Form Us With Love, the name Keel “communicates the idea of the project. The vertical divider inserted in the table is based on the centreboard of the keel of a sailboat.” The colored vertical part placed at the center of the top adds stability and crosses the whole structure, composed of a single piece of curved wood that gives this furnishing complement its own poised elegance. The table nonchalantly finds its way into any environment, mixing old and new images, traditional lines and ironic touches. Keel is made of birch plywood, with transparent acrylic varnish or acrylic paint.

South Africans can purchase the Keel table from Generation Furniture, a high end showroom recently styled into a retail marvel. The brand has revamped itself and re-opened an impressive store in Hyde Park. Celebrating its 20^th anniversary, Generation Furniture is set to display and sell designer décor that has been internationally recognized since the 1960s.
