Exciting news! Italian leader in quality plastic design products, Kartell, will open its first single-brand store in Cape Town tomorrow.
Located at the De Waterkant design district, the new store will neighbour several architectural firms and Origin Coffee. The Kartell showroom extends over 146 square metres on two levels, with one display window running along the entire street side – perfect for lunchtime window-shopping.
Kartell’s cult pieces, their newest items and all the lighting products from the Kartell Lights range will be on offer. Among the bestsellers, the new flagship store will also carry the iconic Louis Ghost chair by Philippe Starck, the Bookworm bookcase by Ron Arad, the Battista cart by Antonio Citterio and the Bourgie Lamp by Ferruccio Laviani. The latest additions include new pieces signed by Philippe Starck with Eugeni Quitllet, such as the Masters chair and the Magic Hole outdoor series, the new Bloom Lamp family by Ferruccio Laviani, and the Sundial bookcase by Nendo.
Kartell has strategically collaborated with A+I Unlimited Design, the exclusive partner for South Africa. This partnership will lead to the opening of at least five new sales points over the next three years. Joburgers can expect their very own Kartelll store by mid 2012.
