WORDS Mary Garner
French photographers Isabelle Chapuis and Alexis Pichot photograph colourful plumes of smoke in disparate settings, from abandoned industrial buildings to dark forests.
The series of photographs, entitled the Blossom Project, has a transformative power, unexpectedly animating the space with magical shades of pink, blue and yellow.
Using a Nikon D810 camera, the images, devoid of people, are shot across the globe, from Norway and America to Turkey and Morocco.
“If people are absent from these photographs, their imprint is suggested among these wild natural or abandoned landscapes,” says Isabelle to Colossal.
