A passion for design and fabric is the basis of the collaboration between Hertex and Tanya Sturgeon, originator of The Silk and Cotton Company.
“I was inspired by my love for Paris. I go there every year at least once, and find it essentially such a feminine city. A lot of my inspiration for this collection came from my trip there in September last year.”
Using photographic imaging, Tanya found photographic images of Paris and then had them formulated into a design. Some of the results can be seen in her designs such as a delightful Victorian Alphabet and Paris Damask – both taken from old documents.
“These designs were taken from old documents that I’ve found at the Saturday morning market in Paris, and I had them modified into fabric designs.”
It seems that Tanya, who took a two-year-break and is already working on her next collection, is flying high on passion and creativity. This, she says, is fueled by her excitement about the Hertex collection and collaboration.
This love for her work is evident in every inch of the new range.
