Favourites from FLOS at ELDC

There’s a heap of new designer lights at our favourite international light shop, ELDC.

Top of our pick list is always Flos and they don’t disappoint with their new range, including Philippe Starck’s Reflect 299 and Marcel Wanders’ Can Can and Chrysalis designs.

Reflect 299 incorporates transparency and sinuous lines, resulting in a striking, distinctive table lamp. The lamp’s delicate shape is inspired by the flowing lines of nature, and its silhouette reflects the sinuosity of flowers and plants.

Can Can by Marcel Wanders is a lamp with kick. Its clean, linear shape acts as the container for a sophisticated decorative effect. From a distance, Can Can resembles a lamp with a stern design, which unexpectedly – when seen close up – reveals a floral decoration that filters light as it’s diffused.

With the Chrysalis floor lamp, Wanders engaged with one of Flos’ most distinctive materials: the “cocoon” resin used in the 1960s by the Castiglioni brothers and by Tobia Scarpa. He created an exquisite vase that’s not inspired by the typical funeral flower, but rather a festive, evergreen flower fountain.
