Woodstock’s Sir Lowry strip will turn into Cape Town’s number one Christmas shopping destination on 1 December.

Stores from number 42 all the way to number 224 Sir Lowry Road will stay open till 7pm, delighting shoppers with flash sales, prize draws, delicious nibbles and, as Nicola Jackson of Me and You maintains: “Stuff you really need to buy”.

The Thursday night shopping strip is the brainchild of Nicola and her partner Carey, who wanted to generate more interest in the area while including the whole community of stores, “making a mini event within a larger, collective event,” according to Nicola. They decided to call it “Everything Here is Wonderful”, an apt title for a suburb that is gaining much favour with Cape Town’s cool crowd.

Besides Me and You (a fashion collective and studio), Woodstock Cycle Works, Re.Store, The Treasury, Woodstock Vintage, The Kitchen, Missibaba and other great interior, décor and design shops will be opening their doors to late night shoppers. Safe parking will also be provided.
