Ayaro, a dynamic concept-and-design studio in Cape Town, takes the interplay of texture and technique to a whole new level.
“Our ideas and plans are rooted predominantly in contemporary European design and production standards – though African and Asian influences in our work can’t be denied,” says founder and lead designer Albert R. Jansen van Rosendaal.
Albert and his team at Ayaro not only conceptualise, design and manufacture exquisite once-off furniture pieces and objects, they primarily offer full turn-key solutions for residential and commercial projects, from design, concept, project planning and management, to full project execution.
To complement their conceptual work, Ayaro creates, develops and produces their own range of exceptional materials and techniques, such as cast brass, etched aluminium, hammered metals and gilding.
Steel, concrete or modern polymers mixed with the slightly decadent use of high-end materials such as brass, solid wood and marble are leading to surprising sculptural objects, furniture pieces as well as bespoke interiors and exteriors.
Ayaro’s Atelier offers a unique working environment where creativity is transformed into reality.
“Our beautiful 500m2 atelier, divided into different production areas, gives us the freedom to work independently. The ability to use our own professional equipment and artisans, fulfilling Ayaro’s quality standards in all areas, at any time ensures the desired production flexibility,” says Albert.
The in-house facilities allow Ayaro to experiment with various techniques and materials to develop unique and outstanding once-off pieces, prototypes and and client-commissioned products.
“We create incredible surfaces and claddings to elevate unique interior and furniture designs into something remarkable,” adds Albert.
