Cyril Lancelin’s Bright Basketball Court

The design of this proposed interactive basketball court, created by Lyon-based architect and artist Cyril Lancelin of Town and Concrete, doubles as street furniture.

The court, which was commissioned by Jérémie Nassir/Trajectoire Art X Basket, features inflatable shapes, foam-wrapped wooden structures and concrete, which span the periphery of the court. Both the colours, a mixture of blue and purplish pink, as well as the shapes used in the fencing are also mirrored on the court, while still integrating the markings needed for a professional basketball game.

The court is expected to be completed in 2019.
