Throughout the month of October 2014, the Mother City will be hosting the sixth edition of its biennale photography festival, the Cape Town Month of Photography.
The festival, which has been running since mid-September will see the city abuzz with openings, installations, workshops, master classes, seminars, and of course, lots of parties. This year’s title theme is Designing Destiny: Power Within and Outside the Frame.
Thanks to the latest technology, photography is no longer limited to those with snazzy cameras. Some truly great images are taken on the humble cellphone. Hence iPhoneography will also be hosting an exhibition of images during the Month of Photography, on the evening of the 9th of October at Cape Town’s Woodstock Exchange. Categories include Selfie, Abstract, Scenery, Portrait, Still Life and Community Choice.
There are over 100 exhibitions planned at various venues.
Visit photocentre.org.za to view the full festival programme or iPhoneographysa.co.za to book free tickets to the exhibition.
