Since launching The Art of RAW in 2023, G-STAR has partnered with several emerging creatives to explore the boundless potential of denim, transforming denim waste into one-of-a-kind art and design pieces. The brand’s latest collaboration, Residual Blueprints, with Uruguayan-Brazilian artist Bruno Baietto, pays tribute to the industrial processes, traces of labour, and the wear inherent in denim.

Bruno is an artist and designer with a background in industrial and contextual design. His work is grounded in ideological frameworks, drawing inspiration from theology, political philosophy, and Western history. He critically assesses complex themes such as social inequality and inclusion through humour and satire.

For Residual Blueprints the artist used denim remnants as a mould for his conceptual art pieces – an aluminium table with an uneven top and a room divider made from porcelain tiles too heavy to move – which challenge conventional ideas of practicality and invite the audience to reconsider the meaning behind everyday objects.

“The idea of producing collections and taking influence from patterns and industrial pasts inspired me, but also the recycling process and story behind the materials. There is a clear connection between G-STAR’s creative process and mine,” says Bruno. | g-star.com
