Brandy meets savoury at Van Ryn’s

Good news for brandy lovers: Van Ryn’s Distillery in Stellenbosch has extended their range of options to include pairings with savoury flavours.

Visitors to the Distillery can now opt for a brandy tasting with charcuterie or a charcuterie-and-cheese platter served with brandy cocktails.

The brandy-and-charcuterie tasting, at R60, features three brandies produced at the distillery, matched with a selection of local artisanal cured meats from La Masseria in Stellenbosch.

The cheese-and-charcuterie platter, on the other hand, features salami, Parma ham and coppa.  Cheeses include a fruity, washed-rind Taleggio, a young, tangy farmhouse cheddar, Grana Padano, a nutty, buttery pecorino and Duetto Dolce, a creamy mascarpone layered with preserved green figs and pecan nuts.

The cheese-and-charcuterie platter for two is available for R120 and includes two brandy cocktails.
The tastings are available from Monday to Friday, from 08h30 untill 16h30, and on Saturdays from 09h00 untill 13h30.
