Beatles-inspired bags by Missibaba

The launch of Missibaba’s latest collection of dreamy leather masterpieces has us longing for Penny Lane days with Sgt. Pepper at our side.

Inspired by the Beatles, Missibaba’s Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds range pops with the folky prints and playful colours of the swinging sixties. 

With kaleidoscope cutouts and military-inspired details, the bags range from the Penny Lane day bag, to the Lovely Rita clutch and the Cha-Ching purses. Neutral leather bases in camel and pale grey feature bursts of chamomile yellow, “piekniekdoek” blue and gold, while cutouts, bold checks, military loops and oversized gingham linings round out the look.

Designer Chloe Townsend, a graduate of the London College of Fashion, hosted the launch at her studio in the heart of Woodstock. Here, her passion for South Africa and the local industry is married with boundless creativity in the form of luxury leather accessories – from designer bags and belts to shoulder pieces and jewellery.

Money can’t buy love, but, happily, it can buy Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.
