Ambiente, one of the world’s most important consumer goods trade fairs, opens in Frankfurt this Friday 13 February 2015.

An epic annual trade fair, Ambiente is the go-to destination for the latest decor products and concepts. In addition to the exhibition there will be a variety of events, promotional programmes, awards ceremonies and trend presentations.

Four of the key trends in the spotlight this year are:

• CLARITY + LIGHTNESS: Light blue, lime green and natural wood tones harmonised with restrained shades of grey and white. Fine fabrics and delicate patterns are sensitively combined.
• CRAFT + CULTURE: Traditional materials, a fusion of cultures and ancient production techniques dominate. Chamomile yellow, tourmaline, claret, indigo and rust brown are the primary hues.
• HISTORY + ELEGANCE: Passionate, elegant designs defined by mythical elements in theatrical shades of mahogany, midnight blue and caviar black are offset against dreamlike rose, pearl and bronze accents.
• HUMOUR + CURIOSITY: A cheerful and optimistic trend, the playful childhood spirit is celebrated in shades of mint, orange, nougat and graphite. Bold shapes and unusual materials define this whimsical, slightly offbeat look.

3. Enjoy train travel from the airport to Ambiente for free if you’re registered.
