Inspired by the harmony between line and form found in nature, the new Love Milo range of tableware and textiles is right on trend.
South African artist and photographer Nicki Ellis creates the exquisite designs for Love Milo using photographs taken of graphic elements in nature. The images are then transformed into designs which are, in turn, applied to functional tableware and textiles.
With these designs, Nicki is ahead of a trend identified by international trends expert Li Edelkoort at seminars in Cape Town and Johannesburg this week. According to Edelkoort, we’ll be seeing more sharp and edgy graphic lines and linear beauty in design over the next two years.
The textiles for the Love Milo napkins, tea towels, tablecloths and cushions are screenprinted onto natural cotton and linen, using water-based dyes. The ceramic tableware, including plates, bowls and mugs, all feature one of six unique designs. The idea is to mix and match the crockery to create a new set every time it’s used.
All products in the range are 100% natural and made locally in Cape Town.
