Nope, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola’s new Kettal Vieques furniture collection has taken fabric three-dimensional. Using texture and height, this fabric is one (dimension) up from the rest.
The range of furniture is characterised by the combination of an aluminium frame with a new revolutionary fabric called Vido d’Ape (honeycomb). A unique manufacturing process was created for this hi-tech fabric, which knots PVC in a way that’s similar to macrame.
“My intention was to maintain the lateral aluminium double moulding but with a seat and back similar to taut netting, a soft and pleasant grid, in three dimensions, which we’ve achieved after two years of research,” says Patricia.
Designed for world-renowned brand Kettal, Vieques consists of pieces for the living and dining room.
