AQUARIA opens tonight

AQUARIA is an Interactive Architectural Installation designed specifically for the gallery space at the Alliance Francaise du Cap in Cape Town. It opens tonight, so make sure you go and check it out.

A 14-metre long under-water “living creature”, is floating in the aquarium-like structure, defined by the long, curved glass wall, currently existing in the gallery space. The creature’s structure is made out of 2112 self-similar panels and host an electronic system that facilitate interaction between the structure and the participants.

The entire installation is an exploration in advanced architecture and parametric design, where DATA becomes the new raw material of the current information age, and buildings have the ability to meet changing needs, with respect to evolving individual, social and environmental demands.
