French designers Rowan and Erwan Bouroullec turned their collective fascination with traditional Persian rugs into this beautiful reinterpretation for Nanimarquina.
The Losanges rug collection, which is made of 100% hand-spun Afgan wool using an ancient kilim technique, was launched at Maison et Objet earlier this year.
Available in two sizes, the rugs are quite a technical feat for the craftsmen of Northern Pakistan since it’s made up of 13 colours in random geometrical rhombus shapes. This subtly random technique makes each lozenge slightly different and each rug a unique piece.
