We’re excited about a new range of bold and beautiful handbags that’s made its debut on the South African fashion scene.
The collection of handbags by Squaremoon has its roots in architecture and design, which is why the bags are both sculptural and practical works of art.
There are four designs in the first collection by designer Lani Edwards, who has a background in interior design.
Lani produces a maximum of three of each individual bag, provided that the prospective owners aren’t in the same geographical area.
The range was born from her own frustration with the predictable and bland, or by contrast over-embellished, bags typically available in South Africa.
Instead, Lani believes that a handbag should provide a “pop” to a stylish outfit, and that it should make the wearer feel confident and stylish.
The handbags are Proudly South African, with all design, development and production taking place in Cape Town.
Wherever possible, the bags are made from locally designed and printed fabrics.
