Cape Town -based accessory designer Matthew Nielson created the Matblac brand with the individual in mind.

Every item is crafted by one person from start to finish, ensuring a quality product and instilling a sense of responsibility in the designer – something that’s often lost in the mass-production process.

Matblac products are created according to the raw-design concept. Raw design champions a return to basics, utility and functionality. A product that embodies these qualities, which is also made from the finest materials, becomes timeless.

Two Matblac products are currently available at Spence: – The leather slim-line, magnetic wallets are computer cut for accuracy and hand finished to perfection, while the flexible magnetic closure is strong enough to keep your valuables safe.

The retail price ranges from R460 – R495.

The card slip has two card slots designed to fit three cards each and an opening at the top for rolled up cash and coins.
