Old or unused climbing equipment hanging around the house? Upcycle a good outdoor intention into a brilliant indoor solution.

We all know that resolutions – especially those involving diets and fitness-driven outdoor activities – don’t always come to fruition… Chances are, you’ve stocked up with all the right gear but finally realise that all that muscle sculpting is really too much for the creative-minded. So rather exercise your imagination and get creative with your bad buys – hanging from cliffs turned out to be a bad idea, but does solve the need for extra hanging space.

You will need:
1 x 3 m bungi cord (R15/m at Drifters Adventure Centre)
4 x Edelrid carabiners (R59 each at Drifters Adventure Centre)

This is how:
Cut your bungi cord in half and tie one carabiner to each of the four ends. Fold the two cords together in half, and tie a knot about 10 cm along the length, to form a loop. Your new excess hanging facility can now swing from a hook behind any door – or even inside the wardrobe.
