Harry&Camila

Design duo Harry&Camila has won The Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award for the last four years in a row, and 2011 is no different.

The award recognises the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world, something for which Harry and Camila are well known.

Working with big names like Alessi, Dedon, Fontana Arte, Living Divani and Rosenthal Studio-Line, these designers – best known for their “mysterious objects” – have been wowing the industry for the past 13 years.

Exemplars of vibrant design of the 21st century, the futuristic shapes of their designs are inspired by aeronautical performances and a fascination with aircraft wings and space travel.

Harry, originally form Belgium and Camila, from Cuba, are heralded as a dream team that blend the Dutch free spirit and Latin sensualism to create pieces that people all over the world covet.

Some of their most renowned pieces include the Skeleton and Mr Bubbles chairs designed in 2002, and the Pi-air chaise lounge designed for Italian firm Living Divani in 2005 (for which they won a Good Design Award in 2007). This year they clinched a Good Design Award for their Flatty stainless steel flatware range.
