A stitch in time

The culmination of her graduation project at the University of Arts in Berlin, Norwegian Siren Elise Wilhelmsen gave time a three-dimensional form in the most unusual way.

The 365 knitting clock marks the passing of each half hour by knitting one stitch, so that one circular line of knitting is produced each day.

By the end of a year, it will have produced a 2-metre-long tubular scarf, after which a new ball of yarn is inserted.
