Cape Town-based design and interiors studio OKHA has just launched the brass Bijou Table, inspired by natural stones and gems.
Bijou (meaning jewel in French) is a striking hand-made piece that features solid brass legs and two shelves, the top made from tinted glass and the bottom crafted from mirror-polished brass.
Two openings are located alongside the glass shelf, evoking the idea of a gemstone set in a piece of jewellery.
“The Bijou is the result of a fascination with eroded stone and gem forms found in nature, as with a piece of bespoke jewellery,” says designer Adam Court. “It is a play on asymmetry, reflection and the beauty of organic form.”
