Jim Denevan gave up his career as a chef in order to pursue his dream of creating large-scale land artworks.

While his massive works are primarily completed in California in the USA, Jim has also created works across the globe, from Australia and Uruguay to Russia and Argentina. His creations are temporary and only last as long as the tides or weather permits.

“I’ve walked as much as 30 miles in one day (just over 48 km), which means about seven or eight hours of walking,” says Jim. One of his pieces in Nevada is 10 miles in circumference (approximately 16 km), holding a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest piece of art.
