We visited Cape Town-based ceramicist and artist Amor Coetzee’s Hope Street studio to get an exclusive peek at how she creates her pieces.
In the clip, she talks about her whimsical range of “boob” ceramics. After experimenting with the project, she came to the realisation that “Everyone loved the boobs and everyone could relate.”

For Amor, ceramics started out as a fun after-work activity. “The more I played, the more it slowly turned into something more real for me,” she says. “I completely and utterly fell in love with the craft of sculpting, moulding and glazing clay and the satisfaction of seeing it transform into something quite special once it came out of the kiln.”
We previously featured Amor as an Artist We Love in 2015 – read the full Q&A here.
