Bounce Chair by Véronique Baer

Organic meets ergonomic in Bounce, an adorable chair designed to spring back into its sculptural shape when not in use. What better motivation to lift your bum off the couch?

Fascinated by the way in which materials change shape and transform their function, Swiss designer Véronique Baer conceived of a chair that could adapt to accommodate any body type. The result is Bounce, a mushroom-shaped chair that manages to be both cute and comfortable. The seat is made of two pieces of foam glued together so it moulds itself into the form of whoever sits in it, then bounces back into its original shape as soon as the person gets up. The chairs are upholstered in high-tech flexible fabrics by the Dutch brand Febrik.

Bounce chairs come in three sizes, each with an appropriately Scandinavian-sounding name: Anton will surround the user with back and side support like a sofa, Christine is a spacious, soft chair and Olaf is a sweet little stool.
