DI FilmFest 2015: Big Eyes

WORDS Lindi Brownell Meiring

Directed by Tim Burton and already a winner at the Golden Globes this year (Amy Adams snapped up the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy), Big Eyes tells the story of real-life artist Margaret Keane.

As the title suggests, Keane was known for painting her figures with large, all-encompassing eyes. She married Walter Keane, who ended up taking credit for the work she created.
