Cape Town-based street artist Falko One travelled across South Africa last year painting elephants on homes and structures in small communities.
From May to October 2015, Falko painted elephants on homes in towns across the country, including Riebeek West, Garies, Mount Frere, King William’s Town and Underberg. His art aims to change the perception of what is valuable and inspire optimism in local communities. The elephants are meant to stand as a talking point and aim to spark conversation between strangers and neighbours.
Falko’s work instills a sense of togetherness and pride and aims to bring art outside gallery walls and the confines of urban areas.
